Media Bio

Kathryn Brockman started her career in journalism as a syndication photojournalist. She has worked as a features writer, newspaper and magazine columnist (film, theater arts, health, food and wine), news makeup editor (Latin Voice, Jewish Advocate, Public Service Review, Military Times), assignment editor (Media Press International), copy editor (varied) and technical publications copy writer/editor (Beckman Coulter).

Her credits include the Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Examiner, San Jose Mercury News, The Sunday Times, Toronto Globe and Mail, Coast Magazine, Racquetball Illustrated, Rider Magazine, Rough Draft, several trade, specialty and airline publications and travel websites. 

She has interviewed business executives and celebrities, was a contributing writer for a corporate historical book, a three-time runner-up for cash awards for travel writing and recipient of a California Highway Patrol commendation for her public service magazine feature on drunk driving. 

Some of her work and travel experiences have also been recounted in award-winning non-fiction (How To Work For a Japanese Boss) and fiction (The Runaway Bride, Sandra and The Scoundrel) books (available on amazon.com). 

Multilingual, Kathryn has lived and worked in Europe, Asia and the United States, and her features and photography have been published worldwide in several languages.
